Color inspires my illustrations sometimes.

The colors light gray, cadmium, and cyan inspired the scene with rhinos I’d seen at the Zoo. I was working from a prompt from the #30PaletteProject.

I chose ink, paint and wax crayon.

If I did it all over again, I’d use oil pastel to create a resistance for the stars, ink and wax crayon, like in The Little Prince illustration.

I love the textures ink and paint make together.
